OBJECT FOR THE SPACE 001

OBJECT FOR THE SPACE is a project in collaboration with fashion brand A MACHINE, where objects are created exclusively for a specific space.　The objects in this project are deformed elephants consisting of 16 pieces of furniture and fixtures. Based on the keywords ‘something never seen before’, ‘something children can enjoy playing with’ and ‘an obstacle’, the idea was to create a collection of abstract shapes, like building blocks, that could be used in ways that were unimaginable. In deciding on the shapes, instead of simple shapes such as circles, triangles and squares, we decided on a collection of polygonal shapes based on elephants symbolising children (playground slides, Eames furniture, etc.), which could be transformed into unimaginable shapes. The photo is an example of one of the many patterns used. We hope that each time you visit the shop, it will take on a different shape and become an object that inspires and entertains visitors.

OBJECT FOR THE SPACEは、ファッションブランド「A MACHINE」とのコラボレーションにより、特定の空間のためだけにオブジェを制作するプロジェクトである。

今回のオブジェは、16個の家具と什器からなるデフォルメされた象。

1,見たことのないもの
2,子どもが楽しく遊べるもの
3,障害物

これらのキーワードから、積み木のような抽象的な形を集めて、想像もつかないような使い方ができるものを作ろうと考えた。形を決めるにあたっては、丸、三角、四角といった単純な形ではなく、子供たちを象徴する象（遊具の滑り台、イームズの家具など）をモチーフにした多角形の集合体にすることで、想像もつかない形に変形できるようにした。
写真は、数ある使用パターンの一例である。来店するたびに違うカタチとなり、訪れる人を刺激し、楽しませるオブジェとなることを願っている。
