MIZUNOBU fruit parlor labo is a fruit parlour by Mizunobu, a long-established fruit shop in Yokohama established in 1915.
The menu offered at the fruit parlour is made from an abundance of seasonal fruit carefully selected by Mizunobu’s buyers.
The shop was located in one corner of a commercial building in Sakuragicho, but needed to be refurbished due to the expansion of that section of the building.
The project aimed, within a limited budget, to create a space where brightly-coloured fruit would stand out and where any person could easily enjoy fruit and have a cosy time.
The space was created using the same colour tone and based on the colour of the plasterboard itself, so that the brightly coloured fruit would stand out.
Furniture and fixtures are made of stained lauan wood to create a unified look.
The parfait-shaped neon lights that were originally used were dismantled and scattered throughout the space, and reconstructed to accentuate the space.
This is a ‘space’ where any person, young or old, male or female, can enjoy fruit.
MIZUNOBU fruit parlor laboは1915年に創業した横浜で長年愛される老舗果物店「水信」が手がけるフルーツパーラーである。
このフルーツパーラーで提供されるメニューは水信のバイヤーが厳選した旬なフルーツをふんだんに使ったもの。
桜木町の商業施設内の1角に店舗を構えていたのだが、その区画の拡張に伴い、改装が必要となった。
本プロジェクトでは限られた予算の中で、色鮮やかなフルーツが引き立つ事と、どんな人でも気軽にフルーツを楽しみ、居心地の良い時間を過ごせる空間を目指した。
色鮮やかなフルーツが引き立つ様、同一のカラートーンをベースとし、プラスターボードそのものの色味を活かした空間を構築する事とした。
制作した家具や什器等は染色したラワン材を使用し、全てが統一されたおさまりになる様設計を行い、
元々使われていたパフェの形をしたネオンは、分解して散りばめ、空間のアクセントとした。
ここは老若男女、どんな人でもフルーツを楽しむ事のできる空間である。
