Designed by Alvar Aalto in 1933, the Stool 60 is a rare model in the history of design that has remained in production without a single interruption.
The factory and production process, located near Turku in south-west Finland, has remained virtually unchanged for 90 years, and millions of Stool 60s have been produced from the forests of Finland.

The minute traces of change found on the Stool60 from each decade tell the story of technological progress, changing values and the impact of global events in the 20th century.

The Decades exhibition will tour Japan with Stool60 from the 1930s to the present day, selected from the Artek 2 nd Cycle in Helsinki.

The fixtures have been designed for exhibition and transport for the Japan tour, and the two stools can be stacked and stored. The exhibition panels can be stored and transported as they are, and also function as a freely reconfigurable exhibition stand.

1933年にアルヴァ・アアルトによってデザインされたスツール60は、一度も中断されることなく生産され続けている、デザイン史上稀有なモデルである。
フィンランド南西部のトゥルク近郊にある工場と製造工程は、90年間ほとんど変わることなく、フィンランドの森から何百万台ものスツール60が生み出されてきた。

各年代のスツール60に見られる微細な変化の痕跡は、20世紀における技術の進歩、価値観の変化、世界的な出来事の影響を物語っている。

Decades展は、ヘルシンキのArtek 2 nd Cycleから厳選された1930年代から現代までのスツール60を展示し、日本を巡回する。

この什器は、日本巡回のために展示と運搬を兼ねてデザインされており、スツールは2脚積み重ねて収納することができる。展示パネルはそのまま収納・運搬できるほか、自由に組み替え可能な展示台としても機能する。
